Ten young and talented designers presented their vision of sustainability in fashion design. ‘next vision: bright green fashion’ was a collaborative project organized by the Creative Forum Copenhagen and the Berlin-based designers’ network CREATE Berlin. The purpose of the project was to build an international creative network, to share knowledge in the field of fashion design and to access new potential markets.
The term sustainability is not limited to the production of ecological textiles; moreover “bright green fashion” involves social, sustainable aspects in production and trade. It should conquer the high segment with high-qualitative design.
The next vision: bright green fashion main event took place within the Copenhagen Design Week in August 2009 setting up and shaping a bilateral and hopefully long-lasting cooperation between the City of Copenhagen and the City of Berlin on creative issues. Next vision: bright green fashion was the first project of the BerliNordik series.
To fill the project with life, five young & talented designers from each city were asked to take an active part in the project. The overall aim of their participation was to engage in next generation design thinking and to encourage a greater awareness of new ways of approaching sustainability in the fashion industry.
